The DS1307 real-time clock (RTC) is a low-power, full binary-coded decimal (BCD) clock/calendar controllable via I2C protocol. The clock/calendar provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. The end of the month date is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 days, including corrections for leap year. The clock operates in either the 24-hour or 12-hour format with AM/PM indicator. The DS1307 has a built-in power-sense circuit that detects power failures and automatically switches to the backup supply. Timekeeping operation continues while the part operates from the backup supply.
The DS18S20 and DS18B20 are digital thermometers that can provide Celsius temperature measurements. They communicate over a 1-Wire bus that by definition requires only one data line (and ground) for communication with a central microprocessor. In addition, they can derive power directly from the data line ("parasite power"), eliminating the need for an external power supply. This library only works together with a DS2482 1-Wire bridge.
The DS2482 is an I2C to 1-Wire bridge device that interfaces directly to standard (100kHz max) or fast (400kHz max) I2C masters to perform bi-directional protocol conversion between the I2C master and any downstream 1-Wire slave devices. Relative to any attached 1-Wire slave device, the DS2482 is a 1-Wire master.
